Dear Partners,

This week a federal judge denied a request to block the Covenant Homeownership Program, a positive step in the lawsuit challenging the program. We are built on a firm legal foundation and confidently continuing the program while defending it in court.

Almost 1,200 closings!

Thanks to your partnership, almost 1,200 families have closed on their first home using the Covenant program. We’re now up to at least 90 closings each month.

Be sure to submit complete documentation.

Our staff have their hands full!  Put your buyers in the best position by submitting a complete and accurate package of eligibility documents – as early as possible.

Remember: No borrower should be under contract before their family history documents are approved by the Commission.

To understand what documents are acceptable, please read the Covenant program manual and the Covenant eligibility document checklist carefully. We are happy to consult with those who are doing their best, but with 30 to 50 family histories to review each week, our staff must return incomplete histories without review.

Thanks for your partnership!

Together, we are making history by opening doors to hundreds of families who have been shut out of homeownership opportunities. You are appreciated!

The Homeownership Team

P.S. We won’t be able to discuss the lawsuit, but we’ll update you when we can.

As always, if you have any questions about the program, please email Corinna Obar or Lisa DeBrock.
